1. the EGR valve could still open with enough pressure and it still put all that soot into yrou engine (The reason to shut off the EGR in the first place will be defeated). A simple cheap blocker plate will prevent this. 2. The EGR Cooler can leak and that will put coolant into your cylinders. NOT good.. Increased risk of engine damage: Without the DPF filter, diesel engines can accumulate soot and particulates on engine components, leading to excessive wear and potential engine problems. This can result in higher maintenance costs and expensive repairs. Warranty voidance: DPF deletion will invalidate your vehicle's warranty.

I posted a similar question in an old thread on DPF delete (off road only) and others replied that the urea is used to treat the output of the DPF specifically and that without a DPF the urea does nothing. At least that was my understanding of what they said. And for the record a DPF delete on a Passat DOES improve performance and power.. A DPF delete, basically means to run the engine without having the diesel particulate filter installed. Therefore, the DPF must be removed and replaced with an exhaust pipe (downpipe) that does not have a filter installed. Also, the engine control unit needs reprogramming so that it works properly even without the diesel particulate filter.
